Our Optometrists

The Importance of an Annual Eye Exam
Did you know there is more to an eye exam than vision correction? The eyes can reflect your overall heath, and early signs of many illnesses can sometimes appear in the eye. People often think they don’t need an eye exam until they start squinting or experiencing blurry vision. Yet some diseases, such as glaucoma, are not symptomatic and can only be diagnosed through an exam.

State-of-the-Art Equipment and Care
Our eye doctors use state-of-the-art equipment and technology to ensure a thorough and accurate ocular assessment. Your eye examination includes an anterior and posterior ocular health evaluation, subjective refraction, and glaucoma testing. Our optometrists always maintain the highest standard of care.

Your eye evaluation includes an Optomap® assessment of the retina. The Optomap, a state-of-the-art digital imaging tool, captures a detailed picture of the retina in seconds, without dilation. It allows the doctors to observe a larger portion of the retina than they can with traditional eye examination techniques. Optomap images are also available for the patient to see, and they can be stored in our system for future comparisons. The Optomap evaluation is a screening tool, and the doctor may still need to dilate your eyes for further examination. A thorough retinal assessment is important because it can lead to early detection of many diseases, including glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Contact Lenses
Our optometrists also have expertise in contact lenses. With modern technological advances, almost anyone can wear contact lenses today. During your eye examination, the doctor can discuss your contact lens options. Contacts can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia (the progressively diminishing ability to focus on near objects that comes with age). They are also available in a range of flattering colors for cosmetic purposes.
